Mukluks & moccasins, as much as any other artifact, hold the story of how our Métis ancestors lived, worked, & played. - Sean McCormick, founder, Manitobah Mukluks
The 'mukluk' is an Aboriginal word for 'winter boot'. Aboriginal ancestors created them thousands of years ago out of natural hides and fur in order to survive in the coldest places in Canada. These Mukluks are the most iconic mukluk styles and have been passed down from generation to generation. Now as a contemporary Aboriginal owned company, Manitobah Mukluks continues the tradition by combining modern techniques and materials to make functional mukluks for urban environments.
